Business Action on Homelessness

MAKE A DIRECT IMPACT: MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The Business Community Partnership manages the local Business Action On Homelessness (BAOH) program, that works in partnership with leading businesses, homelessness agencies and local government.

The Campaign was launched nationally in 1998 to enable businesses to have a direct impact on homelessness by assisting homeless people, through business support, to gain employment and independent living.

Research conducted by Bain & Company showed that addressing homelessness was not a priority for business, yet consumers, in three separate polls, cited homelessness as the second most important issue for business to address.

BAOH provides on-going support and guidance to companies throughout their participation in the programs.

BAOH works closely with local homelessness organisations, who identify people who are 'ready for work', reliable and committed, put perhaps lack the confidence to perform well at interviews or have been long-term unemployed and are now unfamiliar with the workplace.
