Brighton & Hove Social Enterprise Steering Group Joined by Two New Social Enterprises

26th August 2009

Two more social enterprises, the Big Lemon Bus and Brighton Housing Trust, have joined the Brighton & Hove Social Enterprise Steering Group.  The vibrant group now consists of four social enterprises, representatives from Brighton & Hove City Council (both Communities & European departments), the University of Brighton, the private sector, Business Link and the se2 partnership (the regional social enterprise network).

The Steering Group's key role is to oversee the implementation of the strategy and ensure that all elements of strategic activity are meeting appropriate social, environmental and economic targets.

It will support the development of the city's social enterprise network and the culture that grows around it. The Steering Group will co-ordinate with other strategies, promote the More Than Profit Network's achievements and share learning with other cities.

The Steering Group is made up of representatives from local social enterprises and a variety of network members from all sectors.
