Disabled access for Phoenix Community Centre
Phoenix Community Centre needed a new access ramp but couldn't afford to pay for architect's drawings that would make sure the ramp was in keeping with their listed building. Becky Purnell, the centre co-ordinator contacted BCP to find an architect to do the work pro-bono, and RH Partnership
Brighton based architects, kindly agreed to provide the drawings. Their Director Andy Francis came to measure up with Oliver McGowen who drafted the plans.
The Community Association at Phoenix were delighted with the results, much thought was put in to designing a ramp that would both look good and overcome problems with parked vehicles blocking access. RH Partnership also applied for planning permission and listed building consent on behalf of the centre and using their expertise made the whole process easy.
"I particularly appreciated the way RH partnership didn't only provide the architects drawings but also submitted the planning applications – small organisations like us couldn't survive without the support of people like you, and our new disabled access ramp will serve the centre for years to come." Becky Purnell, Phoenix Community Centre
