Atmosphere crackles as oranges meet apples

 Apples and Oranges networking event

Over 50 people from 35 different organisations attended BCP's "matching apples to oranges" networking event. The event brought together representatives from local businesses, community organisations and social enterprises to learn about eachother's work and share resources.

Several matches were made on the spot, with firms such as surveyors, architects and graphic designers offering free expertise to local community groups and social enterprises.

One participant said

"I was involved in a very interesting group – it was very friendly and informative. It was easy for us to find some common ground, particularly due to the excellent talk. A very useful event and I made an important contact".

The event was titled "matching apples to oranges" to highlight the cultural interaction when organisations from different sectors meet. Thea Allison, the director of the Business Community Partnership said

"The buzz was fantastic, with lively conversations and connections happening all over the room. It really highlighted how much businesses and community organisations have to share when it comes to both supporting economic development and improving society."
