Mott MacDonald promotes CSR with positive action

Mott MacDonald is an international management engineering and development consultancy with a commitment to promoting corporate responsibility throughout the business. The group's Brighton-based energy division is a keen support of Business Action on Homeless, providing volunteers and in-kind support.

When Mott MacDonald first provided rooms in its central Brighton office for BAOH's ‘Ready to Go' pre-placement training, staff took part in interview role-play with BAOH clients. Volunteers then offered their time to assist on half-day workshops in homeless hostels. Nine volunteers from Mott MacDonald have trained to become job coaches, working with BAOH clients for up to six months after their work-placements.

The firm has noticed a significant increase in staff morale due to its support of BAOH.
"We have seen benefits that we were not expecting; feedback from staff has shown that they view our collaboration with BAOH as a factor in why they are remaining within our business. In our recent EFOM business excellence model our scoring has changed substantially in terms of social impact by our company, this is due to our involvement with BAOH.
